Big 3??

So what throw a 150 amp from alt to batt under hood if I'm running stock alt
Depends; what kind of wire do you intend to use? From Alt to batt I'd use max rated amps for the wire.

Anything above that rated amp the wire will melt, LAVA.

Alright, not quiet that bad..

yes 300 foot ..its nuts

alt has nothing to do with it ..what kind of amo ur running and how.much draw it will be pulling...and i dont advise runnin a bunch of diff gauge wires lol
I didn't say I was gunna run diff gauge wire was askin if a 150 amp from alt to bat is okay under hood cause I figured alt wouldn't push to much more

yea but theres a problen with that if ur running more than what r amp can pull and u have a problen with the amp it wont pop the fuse ..the amp will take the hit and fry....ur gona.have to change ur fusing when u change amps

sorry i was talkin bout montana runnin a bunch of.diff wire gauges

Why? Anl fuses are cheap as fvck and take two minutes to change. Fuse according to wire size, there its no point in fusing higher. Putting a two hundred fifty amp fuse on anything smaller than 1/0 defeats the purpose. You might as well not even run a fuse in that case.

Lol all good but if my amp is fused then can I get away with no fuse under hood... And since it's a stock alt won't a 150 amp fuse under good from alt to batt be ok cause I thought the amp couldn't push over that anyway ?? But ya always trading changing got a thread up now wit a basically new Skar vvx and a nice q I really just don't think I'll be happy till I got a pair and I'm always getting one woofer at a time so anybody wanna help wit a pair got something to trade let me know I'd let the q go for a vvx plus cash or the vvx go for a q and I'd add

yes u still need to fuse even if amp has fuses..what size wire are you using and what amp??
All 0 gauge ofc and at the moment a old school us made Hifonics pushin 1300 ish rms I'm planning on either saz 2500 3500 or Aq or something along those lines soon I sold my other big boy lol just waitin to get my pair of woofers that I'm ready to actually stick with then gunna pick a amp accordingly . Not really new to car audio just never used the big three always just ran more batts i was just wondering if I really needed all the extra fuses just thought maybe I was taught the safe way.. But ya I got reusable 250 amp fuses laying around I'll just run 2 of those and call it a day till I grab my other batt
