So running the big three got a couple questions .. First is it necessary to run a fuse from alt to batt under hood...?.... Second of I'm running a second batt I'd fuse the power from alt to second batt in trunk .. But then would I need a third fuse for the two feet from second batt to amp??

I ment second fuse from batt to second batt in trunk not alt to Bart in trunk so basically my question is how many fuses need to be ran??

u dont need to fuse from batt to alt some people do just to be safe and yes u need to fuse from first batt to second batt..then from second batt to amp

Within a foot, give or take a few inches, from any wire leading from a positive battery terminal.

Can't go wrong with more fuses. Worst case they sit there and never pop.

Best case they pop and your out a $5 fuse not a $300 battery.. or amp, or whatever it may be, or even a car; FIRES.

i got 2 buddies who will diagree ..thy say fuses r for pvssies .lol they run no fuses one runs 10 k the other 15k

So for now before I add second batt just one fuse from front battery to amp is all good?

yes one fuse within 18 inches of batt under hood to amp..then another fuse 18inches from second batt when u add it

What he said is full blown needed, unless you want to risk your car going up in flames due to a sound system..

make sure the fuses u r using are rated correctly for the amount of draw ur amp has

Well then, I guess I am a pvssy for not wanting my car to burn down due to excessive audio... :|

I'm so for fuses that I am choking my 1.7k BRZ with 6 gauge until my terminals for my 0/1 comes in this week, I'd rather choke a amp and starve it then run no fuses. [the 6 gauge already had a fuse]

Looks funny to see my amp with 0/1 ground and 0/6 power.

This is also true, just because your wire can take said amperage, does NOT mean your amplifier can.
