what kind of gain can i expect from upgrading from stock big 3 (done in 10ga from alt to batt it looks like) to complete 4ga?

I'd say about 1/2 a gallon per meter^2....

It depends on alot of things. (Alt output, the wattage of your system, ect). So there really isnt a way to quantify the gain that you'll get. You'll definitly be better than stock though.

I did my big3,4gauge and it made quite a difference

and all but eliminated my dimming - and still I have no cap's in any of my cars

Do it in the biggest wire you can afford. 1/0awg is pretty cheap.

Yeah I would definately reccomend doing the big 3 in 1/0 gauge, I think its like 1.25 a foot at weldingsupply.com
