big 3 question

if you do the big 3 and you dont ground the body of your alternator, will it cause noise like you have a bad ground (loud poping or static)?

Maybe. I would assume it would be like putting a big power wire on an amp and a little ground wire. Wouldn't be good for it, id have done the ground first.

Alt is mounted to the engine.. which is grounded to the frame.. which is grounded to the battery. I wouldnt add something else.

ok well i added it anyway did it work? no! i still have a bad whining and popping even with im am just running off the battery. i dont know what it could be i changed the grounds i have pretty much changed everything around and it still gives me a problem do you think it could be a bad ground from the HU? help me out its been bothering me for a while i just havent had time to get around to it until now

Could be the HU ground. Could also be bad RCA's. Does the problem go away if you unplug them from the amp?

Yeah ill try to unplug the rca from the amp but I have used 2 different sets of rcas and the problem is still there maybe its the rca plug for the head unit

**** so that sucks i changed my amp and im running it off the rear rca and it works fine, so it sucks to know that my front rca's from my head unit are dead
