big 3 ques?

I have a 90 chevy pick up and i want to do the big 3. my question is i followed the wire from to the alternator and it go to a junction box on the fire wall. Can i just run the wire from the alternator to the battery instead of going to the junction box and do i need a inline fuse? AND do i have to add a wire for the engine to chassis or is this the wire on my fender cause this one goes to the battery thanks for the info

just wire it to your battery and leave the stock wire

You need to upgrade all the wires. In some cases its more than the big 3
