Big 3 = Broken Car?

did you leave the stock wiring hooked up? if you did then there should be nothing wrong.also did you ground the body? you might not need to but might want to check.

I always ground from the back of the alt to the frame to the body then to the battery

edit i do see the body ground in the pic sorry

Stock wiring is still hooked up. I doubled the new and old. I didn't mess with the alternator ground just added two leads from the battery neg to frame & engine block.
Did you disconnect any pin connectors? I have 1 connector that's in the way of my + on the alternator I forgot to plug that back in once and my Malibu ran/shifted gears (auto) SOOOOO rough/bad.

Yeah but I hooked it back up afterwards

take out everything you added
see if the problem is still there

if it is, check fuses
yeah i checked the fuses they're fine but i'm going to start ripping stuff out to see what the issue is

thanks

Disconnected the Alt -> battery positive and the issue still resides. I don't know how to check the speedomter seeing that the fuses read fine on the DMM. The other guages work perfectly

how many miles? The speedo cable could be broke. Mine stopped working. but i knew it was going to stop. Because it was reading 8 miles too fast. And then 2 years later. It went.

another member up here has a newer honda pilot and it did a few little quirky this when first started back up, something about a E.L.D. switch having to learn the cars electrical system after being unhooked, double check all the connections and make sure there are no loose strands shorting anything, then try driving it around the block and see if after two engagements of the cars cooling fans if everything hasn't went back to normal.
