Big 3 alternative?

Lets say you have some 1/0 left over, would it be cool if you ran 2 runs of 1/0 from batt to alt?
It'll do nothing if you don't also double the ground from alt to bat. The amount of current that can pass is limited by the smallest wire in the pos/neg run between the power source and the device in question.

double the ground from alt to bat? dont you supsose to double the grounds from engine block to batt and engine block to chassis?

In the case we're talking about, you'd only have to do engine block to bat, which is alt to bat. The double ground to chassis would be unnecessary unless you ran two positive runs to your amp. But when running two 1/0 to your amps you're typically talking about current that is too high for your chassis to transfer and you'd start running dedicated 1/0 ground wires.
