lol. that's the pathetic thinking of the liberals. not democrats. you can't lump the morons that align themselves with the democrat party with down to earth democrats. i disagree with dems on economic issues and foreign policy, but i agree with alot of their social policies. the democratic party can't be trusted with money. neither can the repubs, but the pubs would break us a little slower than the dems. those greedy republicans keep more money in our pockets. they may do it in ways we/I don't agree with. meh. my boss would fire some people as well, and cut out our bonus and incentives. he's a rich guy who pays me fairly good money. i want him to stay rich.

Careful who you say that around. People get their teeth kicked in talking like that. Union workers are some THE hardest working people in the country. Corporations and white collar a-holes don't like us becuase we are legally represented and demand a liveable wage. They hate that they can't treat us like shit and therefore call us lazy and want everyone to do away with the uninons. They try to blame unions for outsourcing and other factory closings. Truth is it comes down to greed by the corporations and factory owners.

how many people are tired of hearing cry baby's whine about money? but are lazy and will never strive to get anything. these are the same people who bought a house that was far too expensive for their income, then whine when the housing market slumps and their ARM loans went bad. the people who collect every possible welfare oppurtunity because they don't feel like working. fake being disabled so they can be lazy slouches. the list goes on. obama's economic plan will create more of these people, and will take from people who applied themselves and went to college, or worked their as$ off starting a business. i'm a lower middle income guy, but i'm not gonna hate on people who have good fortune, or realized at a younger age than i what it takes to be successful. we should hold crooks acountable, even if they are corporate CEO's, but let's be real. they pay us. the richer they are, the more i make as well. i also find it ironic that Obama received thousands of dollars from fanny may over the last 2 years. over 100 thousand dollars. the only guy to take more than him was Chris Dod, and Dodd has been around since the start of fannie may in 1989, so his "contributions" were spread out. Obama took a whole lot of money from them the last 2 years, and one of the ex-CEO's is on his campaign. sounds like just a typical politician to me.

i have nothing against unions, but some unions are so leniant that there is no reason to give anything extra. i know iron workers in the union that kill themselves everyday. the carpenters union has some good hard workers. i'm focusing more on teachers unions. tenured professors. they get away with alot. don't get me started on teaching our kids one sided politics. my daughter comes home with leftist politics constantly. it's ridiculous. i get an image of german schools in the 20's. it gets tiring to have my child inundated with propoganda.

A properly raised kid will make their own decisions and if a parent is there to force their hand they will rebel to the exact opposite of what you wanted them to be for.

you don't find teachers that lean to the right very often in city public schools. it's over whelmingly liberal. they have no business teaching my child politics. i retract that. if they would have 1/2 hour classes back to back teaching both sides, i may feel different. i don't trust the teachers union to honestly teach both sides without prejudice.

You could increase the taxes on the rich by 25% and cut the common public by 5% and it probably still wouldnt cover it.
Something has to happen, and raising taxes for everyone, as much as it sucks, is far more reasonable than cutting them. We're not going to get out of debt by giving more to the poor and taking from the richer, it wont balance out too well.

People are grasping the situation wrong. You aren't being taxed simply "because you make more", you're being taxed because you can afford it...i.e. you wont go homeless or hungry...
it's funny, too, that he's still trynna tax you LESS than you were being taxed before the initial bush tax cuts....
guess ya'll don't remember that...(or weren't the country's wealthiest tax-payers at the time...i guess).
Who should this money come from then?

i worked as a drywaller for 5 years, and i saw some horrible union drywallers. they knew what they were doing, but they'd only use 1 5 gallon bucket of mud per day. i was a rookie and could get through 3 in a day, some of which ended up on the floor, but at least 10 gallons made it on the wall.

That isn't true at all. Obama wants to raise taxes to exactly what they were when Clinton was President. Since when is it my responsibility to give to the people who don't work as hard as I do, or take the risks?

you are just listening to propaganda. investigate this for yourself. the top 5% of income earners already pay 90% of the taxes. most of the younger members on this forum are nearly tax exempt. they pay no taxes. the tax return in some cases is more than what they paid in. the upper income earners in this country pay almost 50% to tax. property tax, income tax, luxury tax, sales tax, etc. etc. stop listening to propaganda.
