Biden: Wealthy Americans Must Pay More Taxes to Show Patriotism

Hey, it's our buddy know it all. The economist looking through a straw.
He looks through a straw because he thinks he knows it all. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

Half the thing with economics is admitting how LITTLE you actually know and remaining humble.

All this guy does is hide behind his economics jargon and uses charts and graphs to fool the average person who has never picked up an economics text book or has no interest in the subject. He is the type you find working at a run down, bankrupt brokerage firm during the Great Depression trying to convince you that they market will go up forever even though it's just collapsed.
What happened to that apology from you a while back?

like i mentioned in another thread, this world is all about one thing; Money. Thats all a majority of the ppl in this world care about.

Now if you are middle-class, thats something to be proud of is money. I agree on this plan as well to make the wealthier people pay up. Its not like a couple grand out of 300k is going ot hurt them any.

Put it this way, do we make them buy these expensive homes that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and even millions of dollars? No, we dont. Self acting proposition on their part.

Keep in mind, "We The People"..."Equal". It sounds fair to me:)

The solution.Fair tax rate. Everyone pays 25% regardless of income.

Luxury Tax - add a 150% tax to the following items

**** -

smokes-

booze-

Gambling-

Marijuana - (legalize it first)
25% income tax is way too high...I'd rather them cut spending //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

How does this make youll feel?

A young woman was about to finish her first year of college. She considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat,

but her father was a staunch Republican. One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his opposition

to high taxes and welfare programs. He stopped her and asked how she was doing in school.

She answered that she had a 4.0 GPA, but it was really tough. She had to study all the time and never had time to

go out and party. She didn't have time for a boyfriend and didn't really have many college friends because of

spending all her time studying. On top of that, the part-time job her father insisted she keep left absolutely no time

for anything else.

He asked, 'How is your friend Mary?' She replied that Mary was barely getting by. She had a 2.0 GPA, never

studied, but was very popular on campus, didn't have a job, and went to all the parties. She was always

complaining about not having any money, but didn't want to work. Why, she often didn't show up for classes

because she was hung over.

Dad then asked his daughter why she didn't go to the Dean's office and request that 1.0 be taken off her 4.0 and

given it to her friend who only had a 2.0. That way they would both have a respectable 3.0 GPA. Then, she could

also give her friend half the money she'd earned from her job so that her friend would no longer be broke. The

daughter angrily fired back, 'That wouldn't be fair. I worked really hard for my grades and money, and Mary just

loafs. Why should her laziness and irresponsibility be rewarded with half of what I've worked for?' The father

slowly smiled and said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party'."

what about the extra money the gov is getting from cell phoneson local level, lotto was started to fund schools. Now its a major addiction and Im walking through a bunch of retarded kids. If our officials did anything maybe with a little efficiency, they wouldnt need more money, and thats the bottom line
Did you watch your mayor on CSPAN last night? He tried to address this issue a little bit. People expect private sector results from the public sector. If a great manager could earn $100,000 in the private sector, odds are he would only make $40,000 in the public sector....No one wants to pay the taxes to make the pay equal; thus, people in the public sector are usually less qualified to undertake such projects.

yep, price of bread is the same everywhere, the cost of gas is pretty much the same within 20cents, cost of electricity is the same, cell phones, cable TV, cars cost the same...What is soo much cheaper other places in the country??? I have been all over this country and with the exception of mass/NY area and their outrageous taxes on cigarettes yes, everything is pretty much even in terms of living expenses except rent/morgages...
how about you enlighten me, give me an example of what things are allot cheaper in other areas...Please would love to hear it...LOL
Geez, you just pwned yourself big time.

I like it.

I posted this one in the obama thread:

A funny story my uncle sent me:

Welcome to the 'Conservative' frame of mind

I'm reminded of the time that Catherine - a little girl in our neighborhood

told me that she wanted to be President one day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there with us - and I

asked Catherine - 'If you were President, what would be the first

thing you would do?'

Catherine replied - 'I would give houses to all the homeless people.'

'Wow - what a worthy goal you have there Catherine.' I told her (while both

parents beamed), 'but, you don't have to wait until you're President to help the

homeless. You can come over to my house and clean up all the dog poop in the

back yard and I will pay you $5 dollars. Then we can go over to the grocery store

where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $5 dollars towards

a new house.'

Catherine (who was about 6) thought that over for a second, and then replied,

'Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and clean up the dog poop himself,

And you can pay him the $5 dollars?'

Welcome to the Republican ( conservative ) Party, Catherine.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/handclap.gif.0c301076f534e244f0460706894f19e0.gif

How many examples would you like?
I will name some that's fairly simple.

Property Taxes

Sales Taxes

State/Local Income Taxes

Do you want me to compare the cost of electricity per kW/h for people served by the TVA vs. people in CA who do not have access to such resources?

property taxes, that is what i said is actually cheaper, land/morgages...the tax is cheaper because the property is less expensive...

next

sales tax between all states is 4% difference accross the board...average is 6%...

next

state/local taxes...that i agree with, as it varies greatly with each state...

yeah if you are willing to do the research, check out the price per kilowatt/hr I am sure that it isn't a considerable amount of money between the 2 but then there comes into play, electricity in the desert compared to a beach city like newport beach, heating bills in michigan compared to newport beach (I love newport beach by the way...lol)

But do cars, motorcycles, wendys, tomatoes, corn, cable tv/sat dish, mtn dew,etc... I mean we can get down to the extreme details, and I should have known not to be so general as everyone finds a flaw in anyones logic, but I know that the difference is minimal in cost of living between states on basic necessities/cost of living...

And just did a basic search of a jr accounting job on base pay between

orange county ca,

high point ,NC,

huntington, Wv

ny,ny

the difference in pay for a jr accountant was 12K... 36k in WV,39k in NC,43k in orange county and 48k in ny,ny

so the same job in 4 different parts of the country =1,000.00 a month difference...quite a difference if you ask me...

next...

yes we have a progressive tax system, and it is...

the more you make the more they take...

I understand that, and I understand that you are not taxed on 50K as i said in my previous statements that deductions reduce owed tax,etc... but the fact remains that the average person who makes 50k is taxed roughly 20% after everything is said and done...I just took the short cut to the end result...I have made 50K and after the raping from IRS I netted 40K... That was single no kids...

You might get back a bit more with kids and married and other variables like interest on your morgage, student loans and many other variables...But someone who makes 50K isn't going to net 45K after taxes and if they do, then I need a better tax guy...

This example I wrote was the average joe...there are too many variables to get into them all but i guess you want to and I am sick of typing...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Im not sure who's side you are on anymore. It seems like everything you say is helping prove someone else's point and not yours.

They already tax them. Why do you want to tax them more than others?
I'd be down with just killing everyone that is poor. Then the goverment wouldn't need to tax anyone.
This is true. Eliminate those that can't afford to provide for themselves and then the rest of us don't need to provide for them. Your logic as always is undeniable.

1. That isn't what you said, but let's pretend....and the cost of produce is different in different parts of the country....bringing corn out to HI has to be expensive. I am sure someone from CA can post their bill, and I will post mine. I am certain the price per kW/h is cheaper in TN.

2. I said blue collar jobs.
