biamping pro50's?

I am looking at getting 2 amps (Arc KAR 400.2 and 200.2) for my boston pro's. The question that I have is should I go with an active crossover, and how exactly does the biamping work? Wire the amps parallel, set one for high and the other for low? Would the gains together be aprox. rms? How much power are the tweets going to be able to handle as well?
