Best way to secure trunk lid

bottomline...my trunk doesn't stay even close to sealed with hard notes playing...I'd say the entire lid moves a good half an inch to an inch out of place (peak to peak). I'd really rather not spend a lot of money on deadener, especially because I may not have this car much longer, so I just need a way to seal the trunk better as I am very obviously losing alot of output that is escaping through it. If I just have someone sit on the trunk or lean hard against it to help stop it from vibrating, my car gets quite a bit audibly louder, and the rest of my car visibly flexes quite a bit more.

I realize the proper thing to do is deaden it like hell with some good deadener, but its really just not worth the money to me right now.

I just want to have less air escaping through the trunk, and more making its way into the cabin

heh, my trunk won't even stay sealed w/o any music playing. i cracked my lid so bad it sits high. rain water and dirt /rocks can make it into my trunk

well I guess I'm better off than you haha

realistically I can deal with it...its still more than loud enough for me...but for showing off, metering, etc...obviously it'd be nice to have that extra output

so can anyone suggest somethin to just help seal it off? I don't think deadener would even do much towards what I'm trying to do unless I used like 60 lbs of it on the lid lol...

you could get one of those straps they use liek when you have large items on the back of a truck, you know liek those flat nylon ropes. i can't remember what's it called but, when at a comp strap the trunk down by wrapping the back end of the car and tighening it down.
