Best way to secure extra batts in the rear

whats the best way to secure my extra car audio batteries.

Should I make a frame and bolt the frame

or should I use 3m sticky Velcro

or anything else

mdf brace! most batts have a little lip at the bottom of the batt

Combination of MDF and fiberglass; I would build some type of stabilization structure around it with MDF and then fiberglass it to not make it look like crap

I'll just be honest with you man; From what I see, you probably need to re-do your entire trunk; I bet all of that stuff just flops around all over the place; nothing seems to be securely mounted down

dont mind the mess - none of that junk stays in the trunk once its finished getting built lol ( might never be finished )

the battery box is thru bolted to the frame of the car - and the sub box is mounted to the rear deck / back seat wall with screws and glued in place everywhere else - my plan is to fabricate a strap to go over the top of the battery box made from 3/4" birch plywood to prevent it from levitating 8" up and out of its box

OP you can get plastic hold down trays/J bolts/top securing mount at any auto parts store.

You MUST support the top of the battery in case of a rollover accident....

it would be easier to just simply find a flexible piece of metal and drill a hole on each end and bolt it down to the floor of the trunk

Sounds like a good idea. What I have holding on each of the batteries is 3 3inch Hard Steel brackets type L on each battery, pushing the battery towards the wall of the trunk and bolted to the floor of the trunk. Has worked fine for a long time now.

Plastic battery boxes, cheap and simple.

I made a wooden box with "feet" for the sub box to sit on. That battery aint going no where.
