Another straightforward question. What is the best way to secure the box to the vehicle so that it doesnt slide all over the place? The box isnt all that heavy with the subs in it, (about 50 lb) so im worried it will slide around. Oh and it will be carpeted as well.

And i dont want those spiky things if i can help it.

thanks for the input

Best way to secure the box is 4" long screw staight through the floor. It would be best if you aim for the gas tank, then you've secured it through two things rather then 1. Now it really wont move.

Or.. L brackets could also work. Using short screws. Let common sense guide your decision //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

x2 on velcro, works great for securing the amp to the trunk floor too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I use L brackets and attach it to the MDF I have covering the spare tire. If you have the cheap hardboard, you can attach a piece of scrap MDF under the hard wood and attach the l brackets there as well. It holds it in place and will keep it there if you get in an accident (really important if you have a hatch and keep the rear seats down).

take out the carpet in the trunk....

then get a piece of regular ol' plywood and cut it out to the shape of ur trunk the best you can...a big ol' square wood work fine if u dont feel like shaping it out...

then lay the wood into the trunk.....

then lay the carpet back into the trunk over the wood...

then go to the hardware store and get a couple elbow brackets....

then drill one side into the box and the other into the wood through the carpet...

then BAM!*emril* ur box wont move.....
