best way to secure a box? ( From getting stolen )

honestly if someone takes it, its going to be some highschool kid with no equipment , if anything a screw driver, i feel a cable will be okay for now

how does that help him secure his box down? you do nothin but post links with no help //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
He wants to avoid getting it stolen does he not? Those are some ways to help, everybody else already covered bolting it down, no need for me to restate all the same stuff everyone else just did.

the title says "best way to secure a box? ( From getting stolen )" securing the box from getting stolen. i understand that the link provides a bunch of other stuff to not get your gear stolen, but from what i read it doesnt go over keeping your box bolted/welded/whatever else you can think of. if it does i apologize then. so if the link goes over everything other then securing the box, what good does it prove to answer the OPs original question?

I don't know if your back seats fold down or not... Mine don't fold in my Caprice so I removed the seats and used heavy duty hinges to mount the box to the floor of the trunk. The hinges are behind the box and there's no way to access them without taking out/destroying the back seat.

You could try something like that.

something similar to this is exactly what i was talking about. except hinges it would be a long piece of angle iron that went entirely across the box.

i am so confused how that works, where is that in relation to the car/ sub box?

i have a fold down chair btw

That's with my backrest of the backseat removed. If you sat in front and turned around, that's what you'd see. The hinges are on the back of the box. With the trunk open, you don't see the hinges at all. You can't even reach behind the box to touch them. I'd get better pics bu I don't want to rip out my back seat just for pics. I may have a couple extra in my build log if you want to check that out.

I built a false floor thats bolted in the same place the rear seats were and the box is screwed to that with like 50 3 inch long wood screws straight into the 2x4 false floor. Plus it takes ATLEAST 3 people to pick up just the box so its pretty secure imo. 2% tint also helps out on the security side
