best way to install a hu: straight out of the battery or from the fusebox?

hey i always had in mind to get the 12+ to wire my hu directly from the fusebox, but i see other people wiring their hus straight out of battery... what is the best way?

i have an alpine 9815 and the manual advizes people to have it directly connected to the battery, but ONLY if you used the internal amplification (60x4 V-Drive) which i dont... in this case i so assume i dont need it, do i? i think the average car wires (the one that goes fromt he battery to the car's fuse) is big enough for the minimum current of a hu, isnt it?

one of the big reasons i preffer this way is because i always like to disconnect the positive terminal of the battery everytime i need to mess with the electrical wires on my system and if i have my hu positive connected to the battery when i remove it it will reset the hu functions and ill have to reprogram it all from scratch (well in alpine's case you have EQ, X-Over and T.Correction saved even after power lose)

this is a very noob question... but i want to know how the best of the best here does it... i wanna be just like you guys //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Everything is connected to the battery. So regardless if you wired your HU to the fuse box, to the battery, or to a cig adaptor, it'll be reset anyways. So the answer to your question is you'll be fine wiring the hu to the stock location.

Neutralize that acid with some strong base. Try some Draino or other types of strong bases //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif to make that acid into water and salt. Haha chem was good for something.

wut?

I think he was talking about cleaning the terminals, but you asked nothing about that so idk lol. Youll get the same current from you battery no matter what, theres no exceeded proformance with more power. G-luck

yay... in case i decide to get the positive from the fusebox, is there a better place to find a good and safe ground behind the dashboard? or should i found a good ground near there? im thinking about finding a screw or bolt behind the dashboard or next to the console and test it with a DMM... does anyone not advize getting a ground from there or anywhere near?

If ur gonna do all of that work.. for nothing in my eyes... then you might as well connect the ground to the battery ground.
