If you're part of the management team then do it the right way to cover your backside.
Write him up (as per whatever policy is in effect at your job) for the inappropriate behavior/language/threats/whatever.
If the behavior continues write him up again.
Follow the company policy to the letter and if it doesn't stop then terminate him.
Just be sure you're following policy so it doesn't come back to bite you in the backside later.
