Best way to do this?

I am in the works of getting another 12" Type X and another 1501d. I want to maximize potential while keeping some trunk space. what would be my best option?

it's a trunk car (94 t bird) and the one i have now is really nice ported at 30hz.

i have a spare and a toolbox. i don't want it in my back seat. the seats will be folded down.

Does that car have a spare tire hole? or is it deep in the back on the trunk?

.... Tool box can go on the floor inside the car ( If the seat are to be folded down. )

the spare is in a "well" but if the box goes over it i can not get to it. and there is no space in the floor between the seats. i might have to re-arrange some things to get it to work, but i have to have the spare

I was amazed at how well a sealed box sounds

I was like you and thought that ported was the way to go

Turns out i like sealed alot better

yeah, i've always had ported. so i am biased.

anyone know what the space difference would be ported vs. sealed?

i know the cougar was. it had a deeper opening. i had to tilt the sledgehammer when it went in. i know this would be way bigger than that.

i just noticed this... the sub i have now is model (SWX 1242d) and the one i'm getting is (SWX 1243d). i think mine is a year or so older. this shouldnt matter, right?

the type x im trading you isnt a stranger to a seald box was ran in a seald box for a while had way better low end response but wasnt that loud to my ears like the ported but it deff got lower ...

I dont think so, unless the specs changed within that year you should be fine.
