this doesn't seem cruel to me at all, seems completly fair. the cat had a chance, it should've payed attention to the extensive behavior modification routines i'm sure the owner employed (ala' the peta handbook - Chapter 8: if you must be a sinning piece of shit, please do it with care). beyond that you can't tell me it didn't know where the property lines are. instinct.
