Best sub to use with a Kenwood XXV-03A???

Hey guys, i've been trying to find a nice upgrade system for my car, and i need some help.

I drive an audi a6 station wagon, and currently have a soundstream vga800.5 running my components up front, and a rf p3 10" sub in a 1.0 cube sealed box. I'm looking to compltely over-haul my system, and am planning on getting a Kenwood XXV-03A amp (1000w rms @ 1 ohm) to power my sub, and compliment my 25th anniversary head unit.

I'm planning on putting some apline type-x components up front, and running my current alpine type-r's in the back, so i'm def. going to need more than a p3 10" to keep up in the back.

The options i've been looking at so far are:

- 15" kicker l7. Owned one before, they're loud and sloppy, but it's a perfect match for he output of the XXV-03A.

- 12" Alpine type-x sub. A more SQ-geared sub, which would compliment my components nicely, and the price is right.

- 13w7 - Known to be a great mix of SQ and SPL, should be less slop than the l7, but i've never actually heard one. I'm also worried about whether or not the XXV-03A is going to put out enough power to really move this thing. In fact, i can't even figure out in my head exactly how much power it WILL be getting, because of the funky 3 ohm load.

All 3 subs would be in a ported box, to manufacturers specs. The l7 would be getting 1000 rms, the alpine would be getting 960 rms, and the jl would probably only be getting 700-800 rms because of the funky resistance???

SQ is def. a priority for me, i've spent money on nice components, but at the same time, i want it to be loud, and low as well. Hahaha, i know i'm greedy, but isn't that what we all want?

So all things aside, in my station wagon, with the XXV-03A, how will all 3 subs compare with each other in SQ and SPL? The common comparison between l7's and the w7's is usually between 1 w7 and 2 l7's, so i find it hard to draw any answers that way, since i will only be running one sub. So with my setup and my car, which speaker would each of you choose, and why?

AudioQue HD Series subs

Diamond TDX(D9 replaced them) Dual 2 15" woofer, this is my favorite, just me though. I finally heard the Diamonds and I love them. Good output awesome SQ.

IDMAX is the other you should look at.

IDMAX and TDX are my two favs of the bunch. Will handle that 1000w rms nicely

Thanks for the info, i'll look into those subs.

I can only hope that one day audio specs will be done by a 3rd party company, with standardized tests, so choosing an appropriate speaker would really be as easy as looking at specs.

Until then, i'll try and wrap my head around as much info. as i can get before i break down and cry, and end up with a $30 xplod.

I went to the local jl shop, and the owner there was stoned as hell, didn't know any specs for the subs, and told me i should buy a w7 just because it's been winning competitions for 20 years, and didn't have one hooked up for me to listen to. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

and BTW, yes, i called the dude on the w7 only being out since 01. He had no comment.
