I just bought and installed an XA1000 Eclipse to power my single d6 JL 12w3. The sub sounds great but I feel it is lacking in low-end punch. My old setup was two 10" Kicker Solos (round) in 1.0 ft^3 sealed each with an XS-50 powering them. It hit way harder and lower with good thump. Right now I'm seeing ~3 ohm load and just plain want more volume. What do you guys recommend? Single or double? Ported or sealed? 12 or 10? I like to switch between rock and rap so no bigger than a 12" please.
Budget is around $300, with or without box. I don't care if it's used as long as it works. The XA1000 puts out 680 peak at 2 ohms, 14.4v.
