Best sub for 2ft^3, tuned to ~30Hz, on 2K

I am currently in quite the predicament. I have no idea what single 12" subwoofer I want. I can fit a box around 2 cubes, I have an AB PH4000MD, and a budget of about $400.

I listen to a lot of dubstep, trap, and rap. I am looking for very good low end response and decent sound quality while still getting pretty loud.

What's your definition of "pretty loud?" I have a 10" sub that absolutely slays low frequencies from a SQ perspective, but guys used to groundpounders are going to laugh when I call it "loud." With a budget of $400, there's a lot of options you could look at.

The Tantric and Death Row have been on my list. The Death Row is my first choice, since IA is out of Bama. I just was curious as to how well it does in the lower frequencies. I don't know about that XCON though.

The xcon can get nasty in the right enclosure

I haven't heard the IA, but my brahma and the LMS are monsters down low. With that kind of power, I'm sure you'll go cross eyed on the low notes. You can get a good sub under $250, and with $400, it's almost too broad of a range. There are so many good 12's at or below that price point. I've had a lot of 12's over the last few years, my favorite (in order) are the SI Mag, older style XXX and the Brahma. TC sounds has a couple solid subs as well. Don't count out the "loud" subs either. I had an Audioque that sounded great in a ported box tuned low.

I'm sure those used subs are a better value, but honestly I want to purchase a new one. I've never owned a new sub before. Haha. I'm leaning heavy towards the Death Row honestly. As long as I can make it work with only about 2 cubes of airspace.

If their subs are anything like their amps, that's a solid buy.

I really want to get one of their amps too, but they don't have one suitable for this install(though the 10.1 or whatever would be ok) After I find me a BMW 318ti I'll be going bigger and I'll be able to use one of them.
