Best sub/amp combo for around $1000?

Hey guys, totally new to everything car audio as of earlier this week, i'm planning on getting a system for my car after christmas and was wondering the best quality/loudest sub and amp combo i could buy for around a grand. Also would two 12's be louder or a single 15"?

In theory 2 12's would be louder than 1 15 because with the 12's you would have a larger amount of cone area however if you were to purchase 2 12's you would be likely to spend more money if you were considering the same make of sub. Another thing that you should consider with your budget is the electrical to back up whatever amp you plan on running. Also suggestions will be easier to make if you are willing to buy used or if you want all new. To start I'd look at brands like Fi, Sundown, SSA, Incriminator Audio, Crescendo, DC, American Bass and Ascendant Audio in no particular order.

make sure you have the proper airspace for whichever route you choose to go with...2 12's or a 15

i can do a american bass xfl 15 with a vfl 120.1 amp for that budget new with warranty .you should wait til xmas sale ,will prolly save you some cash for a custom box as well

If I had $1000 to spend id get a Zcon and some kind of 2500.1 prolly a sundown.

If u biild a proper box a single 15 will preform just as good as A PAIR of 12s

Assuming you have electrical in place...

Tantric HDD15 and Crescendo BC3500.
