I am looking for opinions the best setup for a 98 chevy extended cab. Thinking 2 8", or 1 10' or 12" I am very limited in sub depth and price. I can use most average 10" and there are a few 12" that would work. Not talking shallow sub's just 12" with lower depths. I will only have one set of 6.5 up front amped at about 40watts RMS. Using 2 8" i could have them facing forward but the other will either be up/down facing. Just looking for what direction to go with. Considering subs under $90 or 2 8" at $90. I understand I am not getting a lot for that price but I am pretty sure it will be enough. I have plenty of power to throw at them.

In my under-seat setup, I went with a set of American Bass DX 10"s

American Bass - DX 10

and an American Bass VFL hybrid 1880.1 amp

American Bass - VFL 1880 1D

The subs are single 4 ohm and wired to 2 ohm on the amp so the subs are seeing around 450 watts total. The subs and amp came to ~$240 shipped to the door. A Knukoncepts amp kit cost about $30, and the box I recommend custom building. I did a cheap downfiring under-seat box. It sounds ok and gets loud enough to bury the rest of the system.
