Best rear 6.5" coaxials ($$price doesn't matter, but size does)

I'm looking for some high quality C5 vette rear 6.5" speakers that will fit. Not worried about cost, but the coaxial's DEEPTH due to space in my panel needs to be similar to a shallow mount Alpine type S 6.5"(sps-170a), around 2 3/4" deep.

I have already tried Alpine type R and some other very nice coaxials, but all the expensive good ones are too deep...AM I STUCK W/ CHEAP SPEAKERS SINCE THEY ARE THE ONES THAT ARE SHALLOW ENOUGH?

You could try some of the 05 infinity kappas or last years Kenwood Excelons with the DualMag setup, they are both pretty shallow and nice speakers.

I don't think those would be any better than the Alpine type S that I already have. What does everyone else think?

i think they would, but who cares what i think. mabye not the kenwoods...and be careful if your not partial to sharp highs- those kappas are

Here's what I've found so far....CDT CL-6EX their new slim line, only 2.5" deep w/ 3/4" silk dome tweeter for $99...........opinions needed.

I'm not too sure about the measurements of Focal's speakers, but their slim lines have small magnets.
