Best place to run power wire through firewall of a 93' Grand Prix??

Please help. Anyone who has done this on any late 80's early 90's grand prix where did you run your power wire?? The firewall is really cluttered with wires and really hard to reach. There is almost no room to work. Thanks in advance for your help.

i ended up having to do that same sort of thing - but i cut a hole in the boot that is around the steering column, it has a rubber ring that sticks out of the actual boot that encases the column about 2" wide to secure it on the firewall.

i just poked a hole in that, and forced the wire thru.

but that was 8awg. so i duno.

what i do is run a cable runner (coat hanger for those who dont have a cable runner) through the rubber wire pass and pull it back through with the wire attached to it.
The only problem is that I can't find the rubber wire pass. Any idea's on where it is on the early 90's grand prix??

i drilled a hole in my 93 grand prix. go on the drivers side and towards the right of the steering wheel under the gas pedal is the best place to drill.
Couldn't find any other place either huh? Did you drill from the inside or did you get under the car and drill? I have never seen a worse firewall, this one is rediculous.

Im not sure but I know there has to be one or else your alternator is not powering the inside of your car. Look to the center of your firewall towards the bottom. Pontiac like doing wierd places like that.

You mean right behind the engine with a half inch of clearance? Way to go pontiac!!! I just helped my buddy wire his saturn, it was great the wire pass was right out in the open near the battery.

from the inside. then you gotta reach your hand down through all that crap and pull it through. have fun hooking it to that goofy *** gp battery. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/uhoh.gif.c07307dd22ee7e63e22fc8e9c614d1fd.gif

Oh yeah, the battery takes the cake!!! It is hidden under the windshield washer fluid resevoir and the air filter is nice a tight next to the terminals. I just can't wait to try and do the big 3!!!!

Iceteebone, did you drill behind the gas pedal? Did you have to pull back some rubber to drill? Did you remove the gas pedal to drill? Talk about tight work spaces!! Did you drill through metal that was the body color, or did you drill through the bare metal behind the rubber matting?? Also, I noticed that there is an alternate battery power connection above the windshield washer fluid resevoir. Do you think there will be any problems if I connect my power wire there? Thanks.

it's been almost 2 years since i've owned my grand prix i can't remember what color metal it was lol. i drilled like in between the gas and brake pedal, kinda almost facing downwards. that power connection you are talking about will work. i have known people who have done it in the past
