Best place to buy a Xbox 360?

Is it better to get one local or online? Used/new? I have not bought anything video game related in 12+ yrs. and looking at gettin a 360. Let me know, thanks.

I would get one from a local store like wal mart, best buy, circuit city, Toys R Us or anywhere like that. That way if you have any issues you can just take it in and exchange it within the warranty period instead of having to send it to the online retailer you bought it from. If you don't mind buying used without warranty they have plenty on here for sale all the time...look in the misc. classifieds and you will see alot of them for sale.

if you got the cash new is always better..i usually buy my stuff from http://www.gamestop.com or if im looking for some great deals i go to ebay but only buy from sellers who have alot of feedback left for them..

Any 360 equipped with and HDMI port can do 1080p, this includes the newer arcade units as well.

Even the older ones can do 1080p with a firmware update, and then use a VGA cable to connect it to a monitor or TV capable of it. Sadly most newer TV's dropped VGA supports in favor of extra HDMI ports.

From my looking, only the elite can do 1080p.

iirc the 360 pro(manufactured in NOV 07 with falcon chip) i just fixed the other night with HDMI output has 1080p resolution. i checked on it in the display settings that night as i lowered the resolution so i could PIP it on my TV.

Glad I was wrong, I was looking at the specs online and they don't mentiont 1080p; only 1080i.

What is the difference between the models?

The major difference is the memory? From that, it looks like they all have HDMI and can do 1080p.
