Best Material for laying fiberglass?

Im going to attempt my second fiberglass project. Last time I used the fiberglass cloth and it didnt work well for me. The resin weighed down the fabric, there were spots with wrinkles, etc. What is the best project to use? Fleece? Insight please and pics would be appreciated..

Fleece or heavy grillcloth is good for stretching and soaking. Then you can use chopmat to build up thickness, or cloth.

I don't like cloth much because of what you said, leaves wrinkles and such if it's a surface with compound curves, etc.

Stretched fabrics (fleece) should never be used as the primary strength of the enclosure. The only thing you get when you stretch fabric and soak it with resin is a base to lay down matte/cloth on.

There are lots of different types of fiberglass cloth/matte in every thickness imaginable. What exactly are you trying to do?

Try stretching it better next time , no matter what the mold material is . If you stretch it as taught as you can possibly get it , it won't sag. I use fleece since its cheap and u can get it at any Joann's or Walmart.

I agree with ramos, if stretched correctly sagging and wrinkles are a non-issue unless you just have a ridiculous shape.

I also use 100% polyester, it was called "Ponte" and it is great. Thick enough, very stretchy, and doesn't absorb much resin.
