best headunit with ipod connection

I'm looking for a HU with really good SQ and an Ipod connection since i got some nice high-end speakers and i would be powering them with an amp.

(single DIN preferably)

any suggestions???

Kenwood 693 or 993. I've got a 693 in my GF's car and it's a really decent unit. The iPod control is surpassed by none. SQ is okay; it does have a 24 bit DAC for the CDs. It's got basic EQ, TA, and crossover settings as well. The 993 is the same thing except it adds built in bluetooth.

Alpine 9886 or 9887 any alpine will have the best integration with ipod and there quality is great.

This is not true. Any Alpine will not have the best integration. I used a 9855 with the KCA-420i iPod adapter and it plain sucked. It was quite possibly one of the worst iPod integration attempts I've ever seen. BTW, my 9855 is better than your 9887. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif (except for iPod integration, which doesn't matter.)

I have a PIO Premier DEH 980 BT. Definitely not as good as my 9884 and 9886 for for IPOD use. The sound is good and all but it kind of drives me nuts that artists come up in alphabetical order under each lists but songs never do so there's no easy way to scroll through a list to a song. Alpines have a feature where you can skip through your song list to specific sections and t hen start scrolling through. I found the Alpines to be easier units to listen to the IPOD on, but still am happier overall with the Pioneer as it has 10 times the SQ features.
