Best for the money?

I'm finding out that for some reason, my station wagon is hard to get loud.

I think i'm just used to driving smaller (read: a lot smaller) cars, and my bxi2006d isn't cutting it for me.

It gets to the volume i like, but not until it's full-blast, and i want something i don't have to push to it's limits to get loud.

Wondering which of these two amps would be the best for my money? Most reliable/most efficient/most badass. (basically another "which would you buy" thread)

1.) Orion 2500D (tried, trusted, been around for a while, staple of the community) @ .5 ohms????

2.) Lanzar Opti4000D (not that many people run them, but suposedly they're the same amp as a soundstream 6500D, so it's gotta be pretty badass) @1ohm

Wondering which of the two youd' pick. They're both around the same money, but i haven't heard much about the lanzar, and read nothing but good about the orion, but for the same money, i wouldn't have to run the lanzar as hard, which is a bonus. As tested over and over as it may be, i don't know if i'd trust the orion to put up with .5 ohms indefinitely.

What do you guys think?

And for what it's worth, i haven't decided on speakers yet, all i know is that i've got 2 alpine type-x's and 2 15" L7's right now, and i want to take it to the next level, most likely going to find a SQL setup that can get as loud as the l7's, but sound as good as the type-x's, but first i need more power. Much more power.

So which?

Thanks guys.

they do rated, i'm assuming?

i wish everyone was cea2006 compliant, so buying amps wouldn't have to be based solely on what people recommend //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I've owned 2000w amps before (a lanzar opti2000D) and my bxi2006D is NOT 2000w.

Next amp i'm getting has to have a regulated power supply. I don't care how 'unmusical' they sound. They sound mean as shit.

i just might have to check them out

the 4000D is more than i thought

and from my searching, i've found that an orion 2500D is CAPABLE of 5000rms, but due to impedance rise @ .5 ohms, you're likely only to see 3200rms, so my money would likely be best spent on an amp that puts out 3000w at a rated resistance, rather than taking the reliability into my own hands

does anyone know if it's a regulated power supply on the 3000w massive?

my biggest gripe with the hifonics is the unregulated power supply

it lacks.... something..... just that 'raw' sound i used to get with my optidrive. def a distinct sound to a regulated amp

most of the big amps will be unregulated including the massive. look to the oz audio v2000.1.... 2kw regulated. pm me if interested they are not cheap though...
