Best choice for shallow mount sub

Amplifier power is not an issue, I just want the best/loudest subwoofer setup I can fit under/behind the rear seat in my explorer sport trac.

I know about the JL Audio 13TW5v2 (13.5"/600w rms) and Alpine type R shallow mounts, but since these are so expensive I can only afford one of them, and I think I am going to want more total power than these offer.

So I'm thinking about getting two JL 12TW3-D4 (12"/400w rms each), two Kenwood Excelon XR-W12F (12"/450w rms each), or two of the 10" version of these. (saw all of these on Crutchfield).

What's my best choice here?

The best shallow sub is the sundown sd10

Why not look at the Alpine SWR-T's? Underhung motor with 15mm linear xmax...not to shabby...more output that the JL's.

...sorry just noticed you already mentioned the Alpines.

How much room do you have to play with? TC Sounds Epic's are pretty shallow and have serious output.

the JL audio tw3 are really nice have low end extension, and decent output, the one thing i have noticed is make sure you have full rms or more because the vc is so wide it seems to have more of an effect on output than a standard woofer. ive installed probably 8 pairs both 10s, and 12s.

I have enough room for 2 shallow mount 10s or 12s in small sealed enclosure. They might have to be in separate enclosures though... I can get that to work off one amp, right?

If I can find the Alpine's for less than $300 a piece I might get those.

I can get 2 Kenwood 12's for the price of one Alpine 10".... so not sure which will be the best bang for the buck.

if u go sundown make sure you look at the cutout diameters of the sub u want and make sure it makes sense to u. i got 2 10" e series the other day and the cutouts are for 8 &7/8 inches
