Best choice for a head

Hey guys I know very little about car audio. I have a 96 accord and all it has is the original tape cassette head. I want to be able to run my ipod through the car. I don't want to use one of those cassette adapters. I was looking at FM transmitters but from what I hear they can't deliver very good quality. Am I correct regarding this?

So I am now looking at my options for a head. Basically all I really need is an aux in, extras depending on what they are might be nice. But in general I just don't really know what all to look for lol. Regarding budget

dealers on ebay sell a lot of refurbs or ones that have been sold in bulk buys that come with no warranty.

if you get a warranty it is from whoever you bought it from and there isnt really any legal backing saying they HAVE to honor it

its seriously best to spend an extra $50 or so

i hate to say this but hell in your case you may do good going to walmart

that is in NO WAY a bad thing against you. just for the budget you want to stay near you can get one there for sure

yeah dude no offense taken lol, I was just wondering if there were some clearly better products for the money or something. I know that's the way it is with computers, guitars, etc.

A Pioneer DEH-1900MP. Probably the best new unit you can get for that price, unless you don't mind Sony too much.

You can get the deck I have, which I fawking love! Is a Kenwood X-492 and has direct connect for your iPod and Aux and they are both right in the front. Has BT, Sirius and HD radio compitable and is 4 volts. Best budget deck out in my mind. I paid 170 for mine from Crutchfield because I needed the harness, dash kit and other things that came with it.

They can be had for 120 IIRC shipped from onlinestereo.com, which I have done a shit ton of business with as well.

So try to scrounge up 20 more dollars and you would have yourself a nice deck.

Keep your eye out on the classifieds on here as well, Ive bought two decks in the past week here. Both with Aux in and nice decks, one was $75 shipped and the other was $110 shipped.

I used this deck for 2 months, ( installed in our boat)
