Best CHEAP sound deadener?????????????

This stuff is awesome. I bought 10 for my trunklid, TOTAL OVERKILL. Coulda gotten away with like 4. This stuff is nice. Watch the vids, if you place them correctly you can get away with doing a trunk lid for probably 12 bucks or so
what about door panels? does this work just as good as Second Skin? and can you seal your doors with this like with second skin?

You don't really want to seal access holes with vibration damper - you'll have to tear it off the next time you need to get inside your door. It's also not rigid enough to be an ideal solution. My requirements for an access hole cover are that the material be:

  1. Rigid
  2. Waterproof
  3. non-resonant
  4. removable

This thread shows two relatively simple ways I've done it in the past.

Ok I have a 1999 Bonneville and I want to do the doors and the side panles in the trunk my trunk lid has a thick fiber carpet attached to it kinda hard to put anything on it without having to take it off..got any suggestions on how many CLDs(sheets I will need to place on the outer door skins per door?

It'd be better to e-mail me so we can figure out what you are trying to accomplish and what you'll need. Shouldn't really be doing business on a forum - especially in someone else's thread.

Its the same concept and you don't need to cover the entire door with the stuff, just on the smooth parts of metal that would normally rattle. If you look at the vids on sds' website, you will see that it is not necessary to put on corners and whatnot.

Oh yeah and Rudy is the man, He knows the answers to all of your sound deadening questions.
