Dammit... my profile age is wrong. I'm 32. I've owned a car since I was 15. Been driving since I was 16.

Wash the car with car wash soap NOT DISH SOAP. Dry the car with a shammy. get a wax applicator get it a little damp put some wax on it and wax the car make long strokes ( not swirls) and do it in sections like half your hood at a time or one door.Wait for the wax to get a nice haze on it and remove it with a terry cloth. If you drop the applicator make sure you clean it very good before touching the car again. ( same goes for anything you touch the car with) Never use brushs on the paint or anything rough. Hope this helps

I have been doing this way too many years. here's the steps I take:

now remember you can wash the car in the sun but never ever polish

or wax in the sun no matter what the product says

1. wash car with a good car wash soap

2. dry thoroughly with terry cloth or sham

3. if there are swirl mark use a good compound to take these out

4. use a good polish and put this on ( this protects the paint )

5. then wax, ( this protects the polish ) - here again use a good one

if this is the first time you are really doing a wax job on the vehicle

take your time in doing these steps the results will more than pay

for the time put in. do this twice a year and the car will really look

good
