Best Buy Screwed Me Good

Well, this weekend was tax free week. SO, being me, and needing a laptop I decided to get one this week. Well, todays paper comes out and I see a few good deals. I am caught, so I go to Best Buy around 1pm and get in line(where they're handing out "tickets" for you to wait for your #). Anyways, I'm called, they've sold out of the CPU I want for 449(tax free, so that's about 50$ saved). Well, I decide to go with the next cheapest(and best) thing, a Toshiba laptop. It is 100$ more, but without taxes I'm still saving. Well, I head in to work and lock the laptop up in the truck. I get home now and open it up, cut it on and happen to check the specs. First thing I see is 80gb HD, even though this is supposed to have 120, a BIG difference. Next I see 512mb RAM, and I'm like WTF. It does have a DVD burner(which was my main target), but this slow piece of sh*t won't burn no DVD fast enough for me. Not to mention they duked me pretty good. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/verymad.gif.3f39c5c2fd57527b671fad3efdfac756.gif

Now to stop ranting, since I've opened the thing, and they closed about 5 minutes ago, TAX FREE weekend is OVER, but I WILL be taking this thing back. So, I'll just probably either A. Get my monies back, or B. Get the Acer for 450$, but then won't they charge that dreaded TAX? It's 9% here FTW. So I could have saved atleast 100$, now it looks like, if they even get the other CPU in, or fix this problem for me, that I'm stuck. BUT I should be okay seeing that I've got the ad and everything?

Is this considered 'false-advertisment'?

Thanks CA peeps.

Did the outside of the box say 80GB hard drive or 120?
Nah pimp. All it has is Satellite A135-S4656, but in the actual ad, http://bestbuy.shoplocal.com/bestbuy/default.aspx?action=detail&flashbrowse=y&storeid=2412949&rapid=435170&pagenumber=2&listingid=-2092947532&ref=%2fbestbuy%2fdefault.aspx%3faction%3dbrowsepageflash%26storeid%3d2412949%26pagenumber%3d2%26rapid%3d435170%26prvid%3d080507BA it says that the # is A135 S4527, it's supposed to be a Intel Pentium Dual-Core Processor, not a Celeron M, big difference. Other than that on the box it's got Toshiba, but no specs on the box, just on the CPU. I'm sure they duked a bunch of folks today.

just ask for the same one in the correct box and problem solved ?
I'll try that, but I know sometimes stores can be asswipes. And for me, Bestbuy falls under that category. The only place I know that will take anything, I mean ANYTHING back, and I work there, is Petsmart. Shoot, you could return your half drunk drink back no questions asked.

Here's a suggestion: ALWAYS look/check the product out before you leave the store. Just can't trust anyone these days....esp big companies. Same goes for fast food //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I know I should've checked, but I was in a rush. Had been on lunch for about 1.5 hrs(30min. regular), so I had to get back on the clock, oh well.

Same goes for fast food
Like the time I ordered Burger King. I ordered a #10 and they ended up giving me a Bagel sandwich. I took this bish right back after I found out thy jipped me.
