I'm wallin my 15s off. I already did once and it turned out horrible. Looked awesome, but did horrible on the meter. Did a 149.7 on the audiocontrol when I did a 153.6 when they were in the trunk.

So for those of you who know quite a bit about SPL, walls, and L5s please help me out.

Box size? Port area? port length? tuning for comps? tuning for daily? etc

I am wanting this to be a SPL box, but I want to be able to plug the port(s) to make it a daily driver too.

Goin in a wall in 4 door honda accord. Two 15" L5s with a kicker kx2500.

Its no use, he thinks his l5 will hit harder then l7's give up dude.
Dude when did I EVER say that? I'm sure the L7s would get louder easier than L5s but im sure it doesn't make that much of a difference. If someone could make two L7s in the trunk hit harder than two L5s in a wall without changing anything except the subs and box of couse. I would like to see how.

I would love to get two L7s but I think I would benefit more by savin that extra money it cost to get a L7 over L5 to upgrade my alt and add more batteries to the back.

I wanna build the wall...then work on my electrical then I will start worrying about upgrading to L7s.

But for now lets discuss the box for the wal.

Box size, port area, port length, tuning, where to put port, etc.

Remember this will be for a SPL setup but I want to be able to plug the port(s) to lower the tuning for daily

Buy a TL and find out.
thanks for all the help!

I'm just wanting input and suggestions for those who know what the kickers tend to do best in.

Hopefully if I get enough good suggestions I can find someone to design me a box for my wall. I will pay if necessary. I just want to do a little more research and thinking on this wall so it wont turn out bad like the last one.

The basic principle is big box and low tuning for daily; small box and high tune for competition.
ok now we are starting to get somewhere. So what would be considered a small box and a big box for two 15" L5s? Then maybe I can go somewhere in between the two.

For daily 35 hz would be good, correct? What about for comp? Ive heard they shine when they peak at 50 hz, but others have told me to tune it around 70 hz.

3.5 is small (what I have for my L7) and 4.5-5 is big. 35hz is pretty good for daily. For competing you will probably be loudest with 40+hz. However, I cannot tell you exactly what to tune to, only the meter can.

You talking about per sub right?

Here is the box that was part of my wall:

It was supposed to be tuned around 41 hz. I'm not sure what is wrong with it, but like I said it turned out horrible to the ear and on the meter.

I originally had the port in the middle, but then I was told that having it on the driver side makes it louder...is that correct? Can anyone see anything wrong with this box, that might have caused the bad turnout?
