Come gather 'round...
From England it would be Fullers 1845 Ale hands down:

Young's Double Chocolate Stout would be second:

From Germany, well there are just too many to mention, but a very good start would be Paulaners Salvator Dopplebock:

In Belgium, its all about complexity, so Lindemans Kreik Cherry Lambic is a beauty:

For Canada, one of the best tasting and carefully balanced IPA's I've ever had was Sergaent's IPA from Old Yale:

The US has so many boutique breweries now its difficult to discern which is good and which isn't. I think a good example of an American style ale would be Fish Tale Wild Salmon Pale Ale:
http://www.fishbrewing.com/wildsalmon.html
Guiness isn't all its cracked up to be. I can name at least a half dozen Stouts that blow it away. Folks who say its the best don't know what they are talking about.
I have yet to have anything resembling a decent beer from Japan, Africa or Australia. Avoid all beer in green and white bottles. They are poo.
