Best bang for the Buck 10" Subwoofer for a newbie

Hi guys. I recently picked up a '10 Scion xB and realized it had RCA outputs for a sub so I've been looking around for amp, box and sub.

My budget is about 200-300 for all three installed. I mainly listen to trance, electro, edm so you can get an idea of what I'm looking for.

I'm always looking for best bang for the buck stuff so I'm sure there is a set up that most of you would recommend for a guy like me.

you will need a wiring kit and should always do a big 3 upgrade too so you will have like 250 for that junk

Whoa. Just looked up what "big 3" upgrade was. Is this really necessary? I've never heard of this for regular systems before.

I'm thinking about picking up the Alpine MRP-M500 for $90. Any subs recommended for it?

You most likely wont need the Big 3 with a smaller system. The Mach 5 IXL is a good choice for a subwoofer.

It has a high pitched whining noise coming out of the speakers at a certain speed and its usually a grounding problem so I'll definitely look into it.

If he can fit it into his budget then yeah might as well go for it. If not, it's probably not going to be a big deal for him right now.
