No its just a selectable switch for subsonic. Some this may be a deal breaker, especially if you have a HU that doesn't have a built in subsonic filter and your running ported with a tuning frequency well above 25hz. I am stuck running sealed in my truck so not an issue for me.
I would be willing to bet the 1000.1D would do very close if not better than the PPI at 2ohm.
PPI is rated at 725@2ohm at 14.4V and Dyno'd at 938 certified at 13.9 at 2ohm. The 1ohm rating is 1000W at 14.4V and it did 1162 at 13.6 (Great results! Again, I've always liked these Amps!)
Orion XTR1000.1D is rated at 700W@ 2ohm and 1000W at 1ohm. I have a birthsheet that states 1095W@1ohm at 12.6V. BigDWIZ showed these birthsheets from Orion are not BS on the 2500.1D test. SO if you give the Orion 1K The same juice I am very sure it will perform VERY similarly to the PPI amp. IMHO opinion with experience with these two series of amps, they are BOTH solid.
Again though, not sure why we are even talking about a XTR1000.1 or 1500 vs a PPI P1000.. This is suppose to be about amps for Kappa Comps.
