Best Amp For My Setup?

Hello all,I am new to the forum as well the car audio world. I was given 2 Alpine SWR-1242D with a MRP-M1000 amp freely. I got a deal on a STL1.600D amp I couldn't pass up,But being new I was wondering which amp would be best for the Type R's and give me the loudest performance?

The Alpine,has more power...why even buy the soundstream ,when you already had the Alpine?

To answer your question, OP, the enclosure matters more than anything else you mentioned so far.

yes while the amp may be good, if the enclosure is not it will end up sound bad. no matter what equipment you use. in a system the enclosure itself plays the biggest role in how well you setup does. Probably like 80% of a setups output is about the box.

I would have to disagree with that, because the amp takes a major role, so does wire size, positioning, etc. The box is important to your setup, but not 80% of it. Without a good amp with enough power to power your subs, it's pointless to have and could risk damaging your equipment by under powering. Take in all considerations and key factors equally when building/installing your setup. Not just one aspect(ex:just the box)

You guys still aren't answering his question. The simple answer is that the alpine amp is the better amp, should be more reliable and will output more power. However, you also need to know what your needs are. What coil configurations are the subs? Iirc, the SS is 1ohm stable while the Alpine is 2ohm. That alone will tell you which amp is "best" for you.

That being said, I think neither are truly suited for those type Rs, I think you can give those subs more power. But then you'd have to upgrade your electrical also
