best amp for 3000RMS

If the subs are dual 2 ohm, then you need 3k at 0.5, 2, or 8 ohm.

My recommendation is two MTX1501Ds (one on each sub, not strapped), at 1 ohm they'll do well over 1500 apiece.

Also, x2 on the visonik. They're just MA Audio on a smaller budget.

A lot of good amps sugested here, but my personal opinions would be this:

Zapco 9.0 - One of the best at giving you close to or it's rated power without having to drop the impedence so low. But get ready, you're gonna pay a price for it.

Orion 2500D - Solid amp, no questions asked.

Hifonics Hercules - Solid amps, good customer service, and strappable. Nice price too.

Then we have my favorite of the bunch. The Kicker 2500.1. Most Birth Sheets are above 2600 watts and they are CEA rated to do the power they say they will do. An absolute tank of an amp, hard to kill it, no need ot load it down to get its full power, awesome price, and about the best service in the industry. Circuit City carrying them has nothing to do with quality or craftsmanship.

I say go with the Kicker 2500.1, but I'm partial to Kicker.

CC doesnt carry the 1200.1, 1250.1 or 2500.1 from my understanding. They dont carry the L7 or solo x either is what I have heard but they can order them.

I have no idea where you get your information... but A) kicker rates the 1200.1 and the 2500.1 at 1 ohm, and B) Circuit city carries the 1200.1 (the circuit city near me had one on the wall) and they can also get the 2500.1. They also do carry the L7, but I am pretty sure that they do not carry the SoloX or the SX line of amps

the MMats D3000 WILL put out 3000+ REAL WORD power. Ive seen one bench up to 3378 watts. how much does a zapco cost that pushes 3000 watts ??????
Yeah we do. We have the 1200.1 in stock and on our wall. We can special order the L7, and the 3 or 5 channel amps as well for no extra charge.

Yup, like I mentioned before, I've DMM measured mine doing right at 3000 RMS to my current subs with gains set appropriately. I have no doubt it benches even higher still, in the right circumstances.

And defying its model number, it's only "rated" at 2500 Watts RMS (comp?).

My current Mmats D3000.1 has been one of my all-time favorite car audio purchases, over 20 Years. One of the most expensive, but still one I've had no regrets for buying. It also takes up as much room as most 1000 W amps. I'm still baffled how they did that and still get such excellent heat control.

Yea, it could be far less expensive to buy a couple amps that can deliver 1500 W RMS each @ your impedance (if your electrical system can deliver that + efficiency loss), since ~1500W amps are MUCH more common.

I got the rating of the 2500.1 off of kickers site see above link. I was led to beleive anything above the 600.1 had to be ordered but I guess that is anything over the 1200.1 just like the L7 as someone just stated

We only stock up to the 600.1 for amps, and the L5's for subwoofers.

ANY amp/sub can be special ordered, however.

What was your measured impedance?
