Best 6x8 under $200?

I had Infinity 6x8 References (model# 6812) and I just picked up some Image Dynamics 6.5 Comps which are way better imo

They cost $160 also pm lyttleviet cause he sells the ID's along with Hertz (HSK165s for $250)

My Infinity's were amped at 60w RMS and I had Infinity 6x9s amped at 100w rms for rear fill now I only have the ID's are 125w rms and I dont need any rear fill and wow do they kick and scream //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Agreed on the Image Dynamics CTX65cs comps, great sounding comps. If you can fit the 6.5" comps id go with the CTX's if not the ID CTX 5x7" coaxils are a great speaekrs as well.

Well, I appreciate the answers, but 5x7 doesn't fit very well in a Ford 6x8 opening, will not seal tight in a truck door. 6.5" components are out of the question as well, I want the extra cone area from the 6x8.

Or I'd build plates: I have cherry JBL GTO 502 5.25" and Infinity Kappa 3.5", that would be very nice I think for upper midrange and sparkilng highs, but I am not gonna run a seperate mid-bass driver anywhere. This IS a work truck ya know.

go with 6.5 comps n the front and rear if you can...i have a extended cab ranger with 6.5 Image Dynamics CTX65CS n the front and in the rear...just made sum custom mounts out of some scrap metal... each speaker is getting 75 watts each. sound great

Ummm............

5x7's are what come in all fords. 6x8's work as well but its a 5x7 from the factory FYI
x2, my factorys were 5x7's and I put in 6x8's in the rear for rear fill for the kiddies and came with factory adaptor plates to make them work. Also says right on my Pioneer Premier 6x8 speaker, made for fords, lol!

make a mdf plate and run the ID CTX65cs man. That extra cone surface isn't gonna do much for you coming from those references compared to the component set we are referring to.
