Best 6.5"s to run off of HU?

And that's the truth.
That are on the cheap side?

I'm just looking for some to replace my stock speakers, one of which is blown. I'm not planning on adding an amplifier, just some that will run off of my HU's 17rms. I'm not looking to spend any more than $40 or so for the pair, so I'm not sure whether to look for just coaxials, or low-rms comps //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif

Anybody have some recommendations?

p.s - I know this is a repost but the Speaker forum isn't responding //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

no i just hooked them straight off the amp, but they should be fine on the HU just make sure to not max out your HU when seting them up
Thanks for the info. I'll plan on getting these for christmas //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

memphis Pr series comp or coax will do well off deck and later when you amp them
Those are too far out of my budget //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

GL keep us posted
Just thought I'd let everyone know I ended up buying the Polk DB651's and finally got them hooked up. I've been waiting on the speaker adapters ever since christmas and they finally came //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

The speakers sound better than I had expected, they blow my rear stocks out of the water. I'm very happy and they sound surprisingly good running off of the HU. No distortion on bass or anything //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Thanks for the help everyone. I'd post pics of the install but I've been hooking them up in the dark, and it's freezing outside and didn't get a chance to take any //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

You made the right choice. I just got some but I'm getting a big 4 channel amp so am going to need some new ones. Anyone who wants 2 sets PM me

Used for 4 days and counting lol. Only H/U power (Pioneer AVH-4100DVD)

You made the right choice
They sound awesome man, way way better than my stock speakers. I have the bass at -5 (out of 10) and it still sounds like I have mini subs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/eek.gif.771b7a90cf45cabdc554ff1121c21c4a.gif
