Best 12" setup for $250

I was going to go with two adire shivas, but they are on back order until feb (according to adire).

i was also thinking of going with a single 15" instead, but my trunk is too small for a 15 (and barely big enough for 2 12s).

my amp is a jbl 1200.1

im mostly looking for SQ, and was thinking of getting a single re se 12 (as its only $185 shipped), how would one of these compare to 2 shivas (in terms of sound quality and how hard it hits)

are there any other subs I should look at? ($250 is my absolute limit)

Image Dynamics makes one of the best sub in my opinion I just pickup up an IDMAX v.3 d4, from my locol dealer, on sale for $250 new w/warrenty of course. There are four dealers in seattle area and three were selling ID's for $450. Then I called the fourth and bam, $250 on sale! You can find them for $300 on ebay 350 after shipping w/ no warrenty. So this find was a score. The dealer said he was trying to get rid of them "for cost", he also said he will ship for 25-$30. $280 for a new IDMAX w/warrenty sounds good to me. He said he had 8 or so of both the d4 and d2. If you are interested the # is

for 250 nice, i have 2 of them, hooked up to a modded 1501d, in a box 2cf tuned to 30 hz and omg does it get crazy loud, my trunk looks like its goin to jump off the hatch!

you can find a used magnum for like ~$250 shipped. unbelieveable SQ! and it gets loud enough to be good. you wouldn't be disappointed at all. believe me.

Another option is the Soundsplinter RL-p 12”, built off the reputable TC9 motor. It’s $229, plus shipping.

If you’re looking to spend closer to the price of the RE SE, I would recommend the Soundsplinter RL-i 12”, which is a replica of the TC2+ motor. It won’t get quite as loud as the above option, but it has been used by some as a reference sub in Home Theater comparisons, so its SQ should be superb. It’s only $169, plus shipping.
