Hes all like no more fighting or else you can be sued, and we just laughed.

Maybe he was joking but it seems logical because it can be used againts you fairly easily in court.

ive been in my share of fights... and me being a black belt or being train in MMA has never come into question. If you kill the guy then it does but i dout the guy will sue you because your a black belt...... thats just an excuse. if you got beef with they guy go up and sock him in the face

Well its the kind of thing you hear in movies. But if there were such a law, then why would anyone needlessly expose themself to potential liability by getting the black belt? It seems like that in that particular state it would become the accpeted custom in the sport to stop just short of whatever belt that would subject you to that.

Yeah, the fact that you have had martial arts training might be brought out in a civil lawsuit but you might want to rethink saying the law considers you a lethal weapon just because your friend said it.
