Beginner question on amp hookup.

Okay so I have a new deck coming. Right now I only run a mono to x2 12" subs. I will be buying a nice 4channel for my mids/highs very soon. I would like to run the required rca/signal now why I install the deck prior to buying the new amp "so they are ready"

Long story short what exactly is needed from my deck to power x1mono x1 4-chan

2chan rca set 4chanrca set and 2 signa leads?

yeah 2 channel rcas and a 4 channel set or just 3- 2 channel rcas, .. don't get $3 ones but u don't need $30 ones either.. my $14 stingers are good.. something like 3 sets of these (if u use 17ft now and have plenty left over just get more 17ft these are 20 ft) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sky-High-Car-Audio-2-Channel-Twisted-20-ft-RCA-Cables-Coated-20-OFC/272475738570?epid=1583862039&hash=item3f70d1d1ca:g:z0YAAOSwEeFVHZK3 or these https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stinger-SI6217-RCA-Interconnect-Audio-Cable-2-Channels-17-ft-6000-Series-Stereo/360638498486?hash=item53f7bac6b6:g:a14AAOxyP4dTdOZj

yup ur right. anyways while i have ur attention quick question.

Ultimately ill be running x2 component sets which consist of x2 6x9 and x2 external tweeter. and this will also leave x2 2"-3/12" up in front deck .

total

(4) 6x9

(4) External tweeter

(2) 2" in front deck

will a 4channel power these properly or should I look into a 5channel?

component set (un decided if ill get these , using for example) https://www.crutchfield.com/p_108R9620CX/Infinity-Reference-REF-9620cx.html?tp=106&avf=Y

oh man u got 2 comps?, well let me just say most of us don't run rear speakers so if u have speaker in a rear deck i woulda told u to just pull them out (i did see pic) u don't need them, u can't even tell rears are gone + u want words in fornt of u.. all that said if u can't send 1 of the comp sets back a 4 channel amp can run 8 speakers of course u do have tweets with comps so if your hu has hp xover u can run 2" off the hu (probably have xover on them anyway if they factory but i'd set them at like 500hz or higher if u can on hu) if u can send a set back then run factory (or some $45 rear coax off the hu with xover on hu faded to front like 70%) and u just saved $..

I technically havent bought them yet. Yea in the back deck x2 6x9 are hidden.

all my current 6x9 sound like crap. what if I did like x2 8" in the back deck x2 6x9 front door x2 external tweeter. leave the x2 factory 3 1/2" in front deck?

Or I can just unplug the back deck 6x9 run one component set up front "x2 6x9 x2 tweeter" and replace the 3" tweets in front deck

if u search forum u will see 100 threads where peeps are telling new guys save $ don't buy rears .. u can just get front set, hook amp to them and dash speakers 1 per channel (set hp xover higher on small speakers) run rears off hu (with hp xover at 150hz on hu if u have 1) and like i said fade hu front so if rears sound bad u really won't hear them, they just be there for peeps in back seat if u want them to hear but i promise u don't need them, it's amazing how u don't notice they gone.. i faded mine didn't miss them so i took them out left holes in deck (i didn't even put cover back) so bass could get into car easier.. also i don't have amp on my speaker at all just 2 6.5" sq coax up front with separate factory tweeters off hu and mine sounds pretty good your should be tons louder than mine with amp on them.. what amp u say u running to speakers? if u do it and want to install rears later u can order some but like i said i'd just get cheap coax and u can run them on hu or add to the rear to channels of amp so small dash speaker get less power (adjust gain down on front speakers).. does your hu have hp xover?

Thanks, I can agree with that. I dont have any of the aftermarket mids/highs or 4channel yet. I just got to the point where im ready to start "ordering" the setup. As far as the HU with HP xover ill go read on it directly after this post , the HU will arrive wednesday and tbh im not 100% sure what exactly ur talking about with the HU :p I will setup what I think is going to be good and post it soon. Im also open for opinions.

yep it says high and low pass filters in the audio description.. so u can set hp for rears 120-150hz on hu and not even worry with them (like i said u can get some cheap coax for rear later if u want just, try what i'm saying 1st see if u want them).. it make more since to me to power small dash speakers with hu and set hp to like 300-500hz so they basically act like tweeter but u can adjust freq down till u hear them distort like i said they probably have hp filter on them already (if u did that u could just get nice 2 channel for doors but thats me, get the 4 channel and power everything up front with it u will see u don't need rears) but that said i just don't want u to waste $ on rears.. u can set gain on amp for dash speakers low and they will get cleaner signal than hu so it's good in that way and u can still use hp xover on hu for all speakers and the sub benefit in that is u can change them easily without using a screwdriver and kinda guessing what freq it is cause hu has digital read out, just use the s filter on amp for sub (if u do ported) what amp were u wanting to get

At the end of the day the highs need to screeeeeeeeem

holy crap thats high.. ssa has some great amps same or less $.. what sub amp u running? do u want them to be same brand? most here use diff amps cause they get best amp for the sub/s they have and that don't always line up with best mid amp.. look at the sundown, ia, twisted sounds and on next cheaper page the ts 95x4 and the wolfram 125x4 which is cheapest of all and is probably very similar.. Amps - WATTAGE & CH's - Multi Channel - Page 2 - SSA STORE here maybe my rear deck pic will show up now
