Ok So I've been readiing up on ohms and amps and everything and I'm really starting to understand it all. I actually understand what you're saying with the bridging lol.Wow.. terrible advice... Dude just go to walmart and get you an installation kit... you are better off getting a prefab box if you just beating around town.. You can get them at walmart or ebay really cheap. i would get 1 12" sub.. audiobahn makes some good stuff that will get you a good bang for your buck. i think you can get an eternal on ebay for like 120.. Kicker solobaric 12 would be a good bet.. they are upwards of 175 tho.. Kicker is a tried and true brand.. You are going to get solid bass and a solid prosuct. this is how i would go .. You could get a solobaric or a kicker cvx round sub off the internet... i would advise you to get a sub that is NEW.. then find you a good kicker amp on here for cheap... yous hould be able to get all of this for around 350.. .... as far as ohms goes the lower the ohms the more power it will **** and the more beat youw ill get.. for 350 youw ill be pressed to find an amp that will hold 1ohm stable... probably get a 2 ohm, stable amp... then get a 4ohm voice coil sub and bridge the sub down to 2 ohms... you do this by running a speaker wire from red to red...then run another one from black to black... then run one from each color to amp.. simple as that and you are on a solid 2 ohm load which is what i would recommend... if you have any other questions or need help with installation or finding products cheap just PM me and i will help you out
o ok i get it. so when bridging a DVC sub you just link the the two coils on the sub together and then its only one channel to the amp like outsideshot23 said. i got it now.You want a mono amp that puts out 400-600 watts RMS @ 2 ohmsDual 4 ohm gives you 2 or 8 ohms... You want 2 ohms so something like this would work Hifonics Brutus BXi 606 Car Amp - eBay (item 250588724276 end time Mar-07-10 09:58:27 PST)
If you are going to buy one sub... a dual 2 would work better... not on this amp though
i have a question. use this amp as an example:ya... like snoopdan and i have been saying.. get you a wiring kit from wally world 30 bucks.... you can get prefabbed boxes on ebay... 30 bucks... get an l5 solobraic brandnew 12" for like 125 on ebay.. i have got them for 110... then get you a good 600-800 watt amp on here for 100-150 and you are well under your budget.. you have namebrand gear that should hold up and it will sound good
my friend has a 12 inch solobaric he says its more than enough for his ford expedition lol. but i was reading where square subs have some disadvantages to rounds but they weren't very reliable opinions i guess. that's why i was keeping away from the solobarics but i'll look into them.im sorry.. i didnt see the sub you were lookin at... If i were you i would go solobaric beforei go comp.. look up the solobarics... 12" l5.. you will be pleasantly surprised with the sound for the money... one of these will hammer in a civic.. then look for an amp liek i was taking about... unless your hooked on the cvr then i would get 2 of them.. or get 1 cvx.. you can lookt hem up to.. its up to you
