ok im working on my big 3 setup right now the thing is will it be worth it to do it i have one sundown 3000 and when i turn it up the voltage drops from 14.4 to 12.8 without the big 3 setup so how will this big 3 help will it only drop from 14.4 volts to 13volts or around 14something with the big 3 setup or what. my alt is a stock 135amp and batts are 2 kinetik2400s. please help.

were not going to be able to tell u exactly how much ur going to see. but ill tell ya that when i did my big three. i got less dimming and a little less voltage drop after the big three.

cool anything that helps will work thanks dude.

i did the b 3 and got good gain in voltage, but dimming is still killing me.

but my voltage is atleast .5 volts higher, just wished it helped with dimming...

Likely it will make more of a difference with transient peaks in current demand than it will in the measured (and averaged over time) system voltage. During high demands times with an insufficient charging system, you will probably see more significant voltage drop simply from lack of supply than you will from excessive wire resistance.

But that is not to say the big 3 is not important, quite the contrary. The big 3 does makes your charging system more efficient, which can mean all that much more to a system that is already insufficient.

What is more important on the big 3, upgrading the grounds, or upgrading the alt to battery wire? If you could only do one of the 2, which would it be and why? Just curious as to see the opinions here... or does it not really help to only do only one or two of the three?

The reason I ask is because in my car I'm having a difficult time upgrading the alt to battery, but I've upgraded the bat. neg. to chassis, engine to chassis, and transmission to chassis, since it was also connected to the same factory ground terminal as the bat. neg. to chassis. My voltage seems to be fine, but I'm curious as to how much of a difference it will make if I'm able to upgrade the final wire.

wow wow wow i got the big 3 done and played my setup and let me tell you what a world of difference it made the voltage is much better is was droping from 14.4 to 12.8 now with the big 3 it only drops from 14.4 to 13.3 some times 13.4 and its more louder now with the big 3 so thanks guys for all your info.
