quit being cheap and get a sheet of oak or something that actually looks like wood.

lawl. I would definitely seal the shit out of it though, MDF doesn't get along well with water

i just figured 3 coats of primer, 2-3 coats of paint ( + accent paint ) and about 3-4 coats of poly ( i want it to shine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif ) would keep ANY water out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

man i thought the same thing... a house i went to last year had a full 4x8 5/8 or 3/4 inch sheet of cdx held up by 2 saw horses... worked good for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif . use MDO wood its the water proof version of MDF

ive used it when i was building ... not that great really its the overlay to an mdf , but it still soaks water.. or beer //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and im sure the ball would bounce about a foot higher than any normal wood

hdf is harder... and no mdf and hdf **** when wet.. which is why ppl use cdx ... more weather resistant..

but with multiple coats of poly and a good primer base nothing really gets through wood

yacht varnish would water proof it well
