Well my truck is going bye-bye friday and I am picking up my new one the same day. I have finally decided to sell my CDA-7998 and get an in-dash navigation Double DIN head unit. SQ is the first concern, next is real time traffic. Then all the obvious additions, AUX channels, DVD, etc.

Next.

What is a great set of 3-way 6x9 speakers, something that can handle 100w RMS and sound good.

Despite my user name, I am open to most brands, the obvious brands I will want to stay away from.

Cost is also not a huge concern, but I want to keep the HU in the $700ish range

Thanks in advance.

Amps are TBA, i may run my MRV-F345 and MRD-M1005 again, or use this JL 500/1 i have in the garage and pick up a 450/4v2.

Reason i dont want components is the added hassel of installation. Making mounting plates, wiring the cross overs etc. I had fosgate fanatic components and while they sounded awesome im not sure i want to go through the trouble of installing them. The new head unit is more for the real time traffic but i dont want something that sounds like **** either. If i wanted pure SQ without all the frills i would keep my current system.

Fair enough. Though it's easier putting components n the front than a set of 6x9's normally. As far as the deck goes. The eclipse AVN series are supposed to be awesome. They sell them at the shop here in Australia and sound wise they are better than the other navi decks i've heard.

Eclipse is no longer in the car audio scene. As far as their DD, all they have now is the AVN726E and shops still have those in stock. Though they go for around $1200

I have an AVN5435 I am trying to sell. I like Kenwood nav units the best because of the Garmin and interface for the ipod, etc... The top Clarion unit is a awesome unit too. Thing it's called a NX700?? It is around $700 and is supposed to compete with the AVN726E
