Look at Crunch Groundpounders. TeamlivewireMike has this to say over at Termpro
Eric Alexander put 2-12" GP's in the van yesterday and busted a 153.1 on the first burp and a few seconds later a 155.1 on the second burp in MECA. The van only gains .7-1db with the mic in the kick. Funny thing is, he strapped 2-GX3000's per GP12. LOL These subs are rated at 600wrms and 1200 peak. He measured 2100watts per sub one click down from his burp volume. Pretty impressive little subs.
Not sure on an exact date when they will be out. But it should be sometime soon. And MSRP is set at $300, so actual prices will probably be 200 something $'s. But no exact prices or release dates yet. When are these coming out, and how much a peice?
I was throughly suprised by TC sounds TC2+ (now more or less the TC1000 they say).... rated for 250-300w RMS but takes ~500 in a sealed box no problem... But I'm not an SPL freak so I may be impressed with their output without them actually being that loud....
but on a side note why do you want to get into some rat race about how loud your sub is... sure it's fun to impress people for a few seconds but if you listen to them daily you'll just end up turning them down or going deaf so WTF is the point....
In the end just get 1 15" uberwoofer and give it 1000w or so and I imagine you'd be happy.... if he stuffed those visioniks into some crappy prefab you should easily be able to beat him in SPL and SQ with a properly designed ported enclosure.
Here is a suggestion:
EDIT: nm the sub was $395
